The Best Form of Exercise is Walking

walking for chronic pain Experts agree that the best form of exercising is walking. Walking helps improve memory, lessens the depletion of brain tissue from aging, and it great for overall wellness. Walking has more benefits than other strenuous exercises, if you just work out once a day and then spend the rest of your day sitting around. There is also a point where pushing yourself to exhaustion doesn't lead to any added benefits.

Benefits of Walking Include:

    • Helps with cardiovascular health
    • Lowers blood pressure
    • Reduces risk of heart attack and lower cholesterol
    • Increases circulation
    • Supplies more blood and oxygen to muscles, organs, and brain
    • Creates limited impact on bones and joints with an increase in bone density
    • Helps with flexibility
    • Improves creativity, because you notice more in your surroundings

Walking is also a great form of exercise because it requires no real skills or practice and results in less injuries. You can start slowly and gradually increase your pace, time, or distance as you become more capable.

Just make sure you take the time to do a warm up and cool down at a slower pace.
