March Newsletter

Dear *|FNAME|*:

Chronic Pain ResourcesSpring is here! Some people associate spring with hope. Days get longer with less darkness, flowers start to bloom, and for some it is due to Easter. Whatever it might be, we hope you find some comfort in the promise of spring.

We know that many people may struggle with relying solely on alternative treatments, or maybe unsure of what to try. That's why we are also sharing information on Integrative Medicine with new content on Integrative Psychiatry! Integrative Psychiatrists find the root cause of a health issue, and then use the best alternative treatments and conventional treatments to improve a person's overall health.

Stress too much?
We are also providing An In-Depth Dive into Better Managing Stress with a look at three stages of stress to manage.

Discovering Alternative Treatments:
Integrative Psychiatry for Chronic Illnesses

From: Hope Instilled

Do you want a psychiatrist who helps you with your overall health, instead of just one issue and prescribing medicine to cover up those symptoms?

Chronic Pain ResourcesQuick Guide to Integrative Psychiatry for Chronic Illnesses

  • Integrative psychiatry uses the best of both alternative medicine and conventional medicine.
  • Holistic Psychiatry takes into account a person’s mental, emotional, physical, social, spiritual, and environmental factors.
  • Integrative Psychiatry is also referred to as Holistic Psychiatry, and is considered to be Integrative Medicine.

What are the Benefits of Integrative Psychiatry

Integrative Psychiatry is a safe alternative that will help people with their overall health (improving & preventing), addressing root causes, and providing individualized treatments. As opposed to traditional psychiatry, which covers up the issue, focuses on one aspect of a person's health, and may create more alarming and even life threatening health issues.

Learn more about different types of treatments, principles, health conditions it might help, benefits, safety, psychiatrist education, and how to find a integrative psychiatrist on our website.

Exploring Wellness: An In-Depth Dive into Better Managing Stress
(From someone who has lived with chronic stress & chronic pain)

Chronic Pain ResourcesThree Stages of Stress to Manage

Stress can make you sick! Stress can, not only make you sick, but it can cause you to be chronically sick. In fact, I know it is a contributing factor to why I became chronically sick. Yes, some stress is good. But we need to be aware of how often we stress, and whether it is helpful, or a problem that may hurt our short-term or long-term health.

I will cover in-depth how you can manage three different stages of stress.

Three Stages of Stress to Manage
“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don't give up." - Anne Lamott

Finding HOPE

CHRONIC ILLNESS: RESILIENCY

From: Nikki Albert, Brainless Blogger

Chronic Pain ResourcesHow do you bounce back from downturns or chaos? Do you bounce back easily? Or do you have difficulty with it? Some minor stresses we can just bounce back from quite well but with chronic illness, we have a lot of stress, mental, emotion, and physical.

Resiliency to me is one of the most fundamental of all skills for those of us with chronic pain and chronic illness. We face a lot of adversity in life. Far more than average. And developing the skills to respond better to these is a skill I know we would all benefit from.

Ideas to Improve Resiliency
“You are as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fears; as young as your hope, as old as your despair." - Samuel Ullman
