This month, I’m providing some general ideas on how a person can go about improving their self-esteem whether chronically sick or not. Many of these ideas are based on my own personal journey of feeling broken and incapable of so many things to becoming a confident and very capable person.

I think self-love is an important topic that isn’t talked about enough. Whether dealing with a chronic illness, a mental health issue, or just dealing with the pressure of everyday living, self-love is super important!

Your body is able to get rid of a lot of toxins, it works very hard. But today our world is so filled with toxins in everything, our bodies can barely keep up. We have more processed foods, more chemical ingredients, genetically modified foods, toxins in the air, chemical cleaners, toxic body care items, and toxins in everyday household products. So a lot of these toxins will build up in the body over time.

My life with chronic pain...Fighting chronic pain is a full time lifelong job and when our brains are bombarded with pain signals, it takes up needed space and energy from other matters. It is limiting in a very multifaceted way.

Over the years, more and more toxic chemicals have been added to food and consumer products. This is not only leading to an increase in current health problems and chronic illnesses, but will also affect future unexposed generations.

Most conventional medical doctors are not very helpful when it comes to chronic illnesses. However, there are holistic treatments and alternative practitioners that fill in these gaps and gray areas. They also help with the explanation as to why more and more people are becoming chronically sick.

Finding a good doctor to help with chronic pain or a chronic illness is rather challenging. I read all the time about people with a chronic illness who are not only dissatisfied with their doctors, but are hurt and enraged with some of the horrible comments their doctors have made.

Are chronic illness (disease) labels helpful? Yes, but often times NO.
Our healthcare system is all about labeling illnesses based on symptoms. Once there is a label to go with the symptoms, then medicine can be prescribed. We are brainwashed to think that finding a label for a chronic illness is super important.
