There are two components to loving yourself: loving what you can’t change, and loving the person you decide to be (not the person society decided you are or shaped you to be). Then, there are two components of loving what you can’t change: loving your physical body and your personality.

This month, I’m providing some general ideas on how a person can go about improving their self-esteem whether chronically sick or not. Many of these ideas are based on my own personal journey of feeling broken and incapable of so many things to becoming a confident and very capable person.

A chronic illness can definitely have a negative impact on your self-esteem.

I think self-love is an important topic that isn’t talked about enough. Whether dealing with a chronic illness, a mental health issue, or just dealing with the pressure of everyday living, self-love is super important!

There are not many things more powerful than finding a calling in life, a sense of purpose, or even that you are doing something meaningful. This is especially important for people who are chronically sick.
